What You'll Accomplish
- Create your OpsBrief account and organization
- Connect your first integration (Slack, Teams, Discord, GitHub, PagerDuty, Datadog, or Sentry)
- Select channels to monitor for important events
- Configure your digest preferences
Before You Begin
Make sure you have:
Step-by-Step Setup
Create Your Account
Visit opsbrief.io/register and sign up using your work email or through Google/Microsoft SSO.
During registration, you'll name your organization. This is your team's workspace where all events and settings are stored.
💡 Tip: Use your company domain email (e.g., [email protected]) to make it easier for teammates to join later.
Connect Your First Integration
After logging in, navigate to Settings → Integrations and click "Connect" next to your preferred platform.
We support Slack (most popular), Microsoft Teams (enterprise), and Discord (communities).
You'll be redirected to authorize OpsBrief. We only request read-only access - we never post or modify anything in your channels.
Select Channels to Monitor
After connecting, go to Channels in your dashboard. You'll see all available channels from your workspace.
Start with 3-5 key channels where important updates happen. For engineering teams, this might be #engineering, #releases, and #incidents.

Configure Event Types
For each channel, select which event types to track. Common types include:
- Releases - Deployments and version launches
- Incidents - Outages and critical issues
- Announcements - Team updates and news
See our guide on choosing the right event types.
Set Your Digest Preferences
Navigate to My Email Digest in the sidebar. Here you can:
- •Choose your delivery time (we recommend 30 min before your workday)
- •Select which channels to include in your personal digest
- •Set a severity threshold (optional)
