Microsoft Teams Integration
Connect your Microsoft Teams workspace to OpsBrief for enterprise-grade event tracking and AI-powered daily digests.
Enterprise-Ready Integration
Our Microsoft Teams integration supports Azure AD authentication, enterprise SSO, and complies with Microsoft 365 security requirements. Perfect for organizations already using the Microsoft ecosystem. See our Enterprise plan for advanced features.
Prerequisites
- A Microsoft 365 organization with Teams enabled
- Azure AD admin permissions (or ability to request app consent)
- An OpsBrief account (sign up free)
- Member access to the Teams channels you want to monitor
Step-by-Step Setup
Navigate to Integrations
After creating your account, go to your dashboard and navigate to Settings → Integrations. Click "Connect" next to Microsoft Teams.
Azure AD Authentication
You'll be redirected to Microsoft's login page. Sign in with your Microsoft 365 work account. If your organization requires admin consent for new apps, you may need to request approval from your IT administrator.
For IT Admins: OpsBrief requests Microsoft Graph API permissions for reading Teams channels and messages. Review permissions in the Azure AD admin portal before approving.
Grant Permissions
Review and accept the permissions requested. OpsBrief requires:
Team.ReadBasic.All- List teams you're a member ofChannel.ReadBasic.All- List channels in your teamsChannelMessage.Read.All- Read messages from channelsUser.Read- Read your profile for authentication
Select Teams and Channels
After authorization, OpsBrief will fetch your Teams and channels. Navigate to Channels in your dashboard to select which channels to monitor.
Configure event types for each channel. Operations teams often monitor channels like "General", "Announcements", and project-specific channels.
Configure Your Digest
Set up your digest preferences to receive daily summaries of Teams activity. Each team member can customize their own preferences.

Troubleshooting
Admin consent required
Your organization may require admin consent for new apps. Ask your Azure AD administrator to approve OpsBrief in the Enterprise Applications section of the Azure portal.
Can't see all teams
OpsBrief can only access teams where you're a member. If you need to monitor a team, ask to be added as a member first.
Messages not syncing
Teams messages sync every few minutes. Ensure the integration is properly connected in Settings → Integrations. For persistent issues, try reconnecting.
Private channels not visible
Private channels require explicit access. You must be a member of the private channel for OpsBrief to monitor it.
